Using big data from smart meters to model building stocks

Description : The proliferation of smart meters represents a great opportunity for data to be collected and used to improve the modelling of building stocks in energy system models. This project aims to develop a methodology for using big data from communicating electric meters to characterize and calibrate, in particular by reverse modelling, archetypes of buildings that can be integrated into the NATEM model. The explicit representation of building archetypes allows for the refinement of estimations of energy conservation and energy efficiency potential and technological substitutions in decarbonization scenarios.
